Where is everyone on here from? I am from Ohio (I'm jealous of the people that live in such beautiful places.) I live by ...well....NOTHING!

I'm from the UK. I sort of live in the middle of the UK so to get to the beech etc it is about 2hrs drive maybe but I only have to drive say 15mins to get out into the country.
I have a nice large park behind me which has recently been declared a nature reserve so I'm looking forward to exploring there with my camera and new found skills.
Other than that, it is mainly houses around me.

I'm in Louisville, Kentucky. Lots of photo ops here -- rural and urban.
I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio and have relatives in Canton and Brunswick, LensBaby.
You have LOTS of stuff to shoot. Just gotta be aware of it. Look around. ;)

Gary's right, if you look around there is always something that will catch the eye. Even if it is only people. I read an article in a magazine recently which concentrated on peoples faces, and the different results you could get. Some of the older people with there wrinkles, made great shots.

There are a couple of photo ops but after a while I kinda want to find another place to shoot. I live in Green (in between Akron and Canton). We just went through Louisville Kentucky last week, and I did see a lot of photo ops there, but it was pouring down rain.

What are your areas of interest? Nature? People? Architecture? Landscapes/sunrises/sunsets? Sports? Macro? You have a whole lake and major river full of freighters just north of you that begs to shot. Not to mention a great park system all over the place with LOTS of wildlife and landscape possibilities. Erie Canal stuff? How about the zoo? Snowy landscapes? Christmas lights? See... SCADS of stuff. Be creative... ;)
I'm headed to that area over Christmas. I'll see what I come up with. Last year (or year before - I forget), you had a small ice storm that made the trees in the area a crystal palace. I wish I had shots of THAT now. With any luck, I'll get another opportunity.

I am from Sheffield, UK. On the doorstep to the Peak District, so looking forward to heading out into it once I have some new skills under my belt.
Without wishing for a different life, I would like to live by the coast, but if I did, would i then wish to live inland. Where ever you live there should be some sort of interesting photo opportunities, just a case of looking at your surroundings with a fresh pair of eyes.

Ah, you're not too far from me then Jon. I too will be heading out to the peaks for some pics in the summer.:)
I also want to head up to Ashbourne around the roaches, don't know if you know them, but they are a huge rock formation, one is called the winking man, and I'll love a good shot of that.
If it snows, it will be a bonus there too, but usually the road is closed then:rolleyes:

I really love all types of photos. I used to love taking pictures of my son racing his quad, but last time I did that he wrecked almost died and ended up with a brain injury. I cannot take those of him anymore.

Yeah everything is ok. He is of course homeschooled now because of attention problems as a result of the injury, but then again he is a teenager, at this age they don't want to pay attention to mom as it is. All is well with him now thanks. Here is a picture...its kinda blurry because I had to use a high ISO and it was very dark in there.

Glad to hear it. Like you say, most teenagers have attention problems without any injury at all. Infact, my wife says I have attention problems and I am past my teenages years (just ;)):D:D
