First I'm on the last assignment for the HDR course, and just this morning I came across the perfect setting and conditions only a mile from my house. This is not the final version because I plan out cloning out the building on the right with the telephone pole, but wanted to post in case there are some suggestions from you all. Thanks for looking.
Hey Joseph, I really love this one.
This vibrant sunset shot shows an array of "different" clouds, which reflect perfectly into the water, as does the little house, the palms, and most importantly the beautiful sunset.
Not to mention the lovely green in the nature on the left.
Re further edit on your part. I really don't mind the pole, and love it's reflection, but then I see the powerlines (not a major eyesore)... but I do like the reflection of the pole in the water. I think it adds something?
But the "cement" house?? This should go (I guess), so if you agree with the house going, I guess the pole should go too??
Not sure if I have helped your decision in anyway, but best of luck with this great shot.

Wow....this is great work Joseph. Personally, I don't mind the utility pole and building because of what's going on around them.....they seem to add a sense of contrast between the everyday structures we live and work around and the great expanse of the sunrise....the sunrise still wins!

I think my first reaction when I saw this image was "holy crap, this is awesome!" I don't mind the building and telephone pole so much, Joseph, but I would like to see the final version for comparison, if you don't mind sharing it. The only suggestion I would have is to forward me the address where I need to send a check to purchase this beautiful image. Just gorgeous.

Thanks for the input Kaye. Below are the finals edits on this image. I did end up taking the building and pole out. Take care.

Hey Sandy thanks for commenting. I did keep a version of what you described here, just didn't post it. Talk to you later and thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Joseph, the sense of the surreal is what can be seen and taken from these amazing HDRi’s You have created.
If the last 3 you posted are your final choice I would say you have made the right choice I love all three of them.
Isn’t HDRi just an amazing playground for the mind?
Excellent work Joseph

Joseph,
If it's possible, I think I'm more impressed the more I come back to take another look. Simply superb.

WHOA - NELLY! I keep staring at the reflections you captured in photo #2. They're simply captivating; so surreal.
Personally, I wouldn't remove the power pole. For me is adds validity that the place actually exists, but that's me.
The ONLY distraction is the light source in photo #1 on the left hand side. There just seems to be a lot of light
in that particular area vs. the amount collectively in the background (very petty comment).
Love what you're doing with your HDR material though. It's fantastic, Joseph.

These are fantastic versions....the 3rd just has it all with the greens on the left, the huge expanse of the sunrise, and the amazing reflections of the building on the right....love what you're doing!!

Some were asking about what images I was using for the final, There are 3 for the final assignment. here they are:
For the panorama I used this first image which was posted earlier. It was made from 18 RAW files, which in turn made 6 HSR's and stiched together.
For the B&W I used a crop from a much larger B&W panorama from a local cemetery.
For the color image I use a re-edited version from last years fall colors.
The last image is for Doug and the others that liked the telephone pole left in. This image is a total different panorama from the others of the same scene taken from a different angle.

That's such a great way to put HDR Mark, for you are right on. I've dabbled in this for of photographer for a while but for the class I've been doing much more of it. It is such a great diversion from the norm. HDR can make an image better but still maintain that real look. HDR can also make things look surreal like you mentioned, which is my favorite. Thank you Mark for the encouragement.
Joseph,

I'm glad these images have that effect Eddie. HDR is a process everyone has to try at some point, because it's such an involved process and satisfying on a new level. Appreciate you taking time to comment.

Much appreciated Denise. The really nice thing about HDR is it gives the creative challenged a fighting chance :) Thank you Denise.

This mean a lot Doug, thanks. I'm really hoping to do something special with these latest images. Don't know what yet, but the wheels are turning. Appreciate it buddy.

You know how you fall into a photo situation by complete accident? I made the trip to photograph pelicans, until I stumbled across the location and saw the sunrise setting up. Thank you Sandy.
Just amazing what you are doing here Joseph. Like Sandy I think the third has it all.
That is my fav overall also. Thanks for commenting Shirley.
Can I remove this post some how I posted twice??...........
Yep, go into edit post/advanced. There you can delete it.

Thank you for having a look and taking the time to comment Mick. I'm glad it's getting good reviews. Do you have any suggestions Mick on what you might have done differently. Talk later.
Joseph, so many beautiful shots to compare....
I do love no. 2 and 3 in your 2nd series.
No. 2 is more subtle (saturation-wise), but do just love the little house and the reflection in 3.
And your last series:
I would have to choose No. 4, but this is a difficult choice.

Hi Joseph,
I don't think I would have done anything different but then again I don't really know much about HDR yet. I just don't like seeing HDR when it is over done which non of yours are.
Actually the only thing I would have done differently would be to have taken the shots myself and be able to call them mine!!! :D:D
These are spot on and I still like the first shot in the last series the best, the composition with the trees to the left just works really well.
Mick.
