How is this for the Rule of 3rds guys.

Is the plane in a quadrant other than the center? Sure. But... what is the focus of the shot? TO my eye, the building on the left is brighter and is what my eye is drawn to right off the bat.
One has to answer a minimum of 2 questions when thinking about the rule of thirds:
- Is there an object in one of the quadrants?
- Is that object the MAIN subject point that draws the attention?

When I look at the photo above, I have to answer yes. Her eyes are in the top right quadrant, and yes, she is the main subject of the photo.
This is a more extended and complete way of thinking about and using the rule of thirds. :)
Here is another example, but this time how not being the brightest object is not a detriment (the brightest part of he photo being that stripe along the wall):

Ask yourself the 2 questions... if they both answer YES, then the ROT was used successfully. :)
