So you've been working on an image in the Develop module of Adobe Lightroom and you you're ready to save your changes. The problem is, there's no "Save" or "Save As..." option on the File menu. How can that be?....

The history of changes applied to any given file is in the lr.lrcat file in the same directory where the catalog files are created, not applied to the photo directly. All changes are non0destructive.

Someone recently wanted some help and I modded a file, added a few effects and they wanted to see exactly what I did, so I sent her the RAW file and the lr.lrcat file and she was able to see, via the results exactly what I did.

The fast and proper way to do this, is to "export to catalog", that creates the directory, copies the files there and the history and all changes done to that particular file, ready for you to see in detail everything that was done. ;) :D

To view this catalog, just double click on the LR.LRCAT file. It opens LR and loads this catalog, ready to go.
