I'm expecting my new 550UZ either Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm like a little kid at Christmas! Wait... it IS Christmas! Sadly, I'm not that young anymore :(
I've been looking at the photos taken with it on Flickr and am astounded. They have a discussion forum devoted to the 550 and 560, did you know that?

the zoom is amazing, and it's what did it for me

I looked at some macro shots a guy on Flickr took (it's his first digicam and he'd never taken ANY macros before) and they were amazing. Then, I saw the zoom shots. Peter put my Kodak Z612 side-by-side for comparison and, on paper, there isn't much reason to switch. But, looking at the specs on Olympus.com there are some things that the 550UZ has that I really want that the Z612 doesn't have. Not many, mind you, but enough. The real selling point was winning an auction for one at $244 right from Olympus. THAT was a steal in my book. I sold my Z612 w/accessories for $250. Now, all I have to do is wait -- and it's killing me!

Great Shot, i am looking forward to attempting the panaromic stitch photo myself. If comes out as well as this shot, I would be very happy.
