Hi Craig, IMO these do show DOF, the shallow DOF being great with good focus on the leaves. My only comment would be that nothing is really sharply in focus for the second. Judging from all the foliage it might have been difficult to set up but I would have been inclined to focus on the tree, leaving the foliage out of focus, & for the 2nd had all in focus. Hope this helps.
