hairy bug

I have never seen a bug like this
need to ask my daughter to get her lab partner to ID it for me
did not seem to be a stinging bug
but I sure did not want to find out either
I used my macro lens
needs an edge at the back of the bug
other then that I thought was pretty good

looks like a cross between a wasp and a fly, haven't seen anything like that. I'm still waiting to hear back from various places about some wierd moth thing had come in one night.

I just write my daughter she is finishing her master at Vanderbilt she ask a bug guy there
and have not stumped him yet

I do not know what this bug is either.

In #2, you could bring out more detail I think with a touch more exposure, but before trying that, I would use Shadows/Highlight in PS.

PS That does really look like a long stinging thing at his rear! but he does seem to have the characteristics of some sort of fly :confused:

my daughter told me the name but did not write it down but it does not sting I remembered that Which is good to know because I see them quite often at this one place we go. SORRY
