I thought for a first go at trying things for this lesson I would try something from my night shots last night. Would this fit more high key or low key or in the middle.

Hi Craig,

Beautiful shot!
I'm not an expert of black and white photography, therefore, when I do BW, I never think it to be high key or low key. In my mind, that kind consideration, would work only in studio photography :o
It's how to convert the color picture into B&W that matters for me.

Something that I learned from lesson 7 that we do not just convert our color photo to grayscale. This process usually produces dull images. We have to fine-tune each individual channel's contrast and brightness, before converting the image to black and white.

Here is my version of BW of your picture, I hope you don't mind. It's not like mine is better than yours;)

Thank you Tenny and I didn't mind you doing a edit, just that in the homework we have to take both high and low key and a bw architecture shot. I was trying to keep all the contrasts fairly even so there wasn't much contrast to find out whether it would fit in with the low key B&W or whether I was wrong. To me the example in the lesson is a highly exposed shot then converted to bw which would keep the contrast level very low.
Cheers.
