You're not going to believe this! I hardly believe it myself!

I ordered a camera for a friend of mine. A Canon A560. Turned out my "friend" changed his mind about 4 hours after it shipped and I was stuck with it. Well, the company I got it from shipped TWO of them, one coming at a later date! They realized their error and asked if would ship it back. Of course, I said no problem as they were picking up the tab. For the past two days, DHL has been attempting to deliver the camera whilst I was at work and this package required a signature. The company got all nasty in an email accusing me of stalling. I informed them of the signature requirement and that I work during delivery time. I offered to stay home from work if they would pay my wages. They apologized profusely and -- now get this!! -- said if I would stay home they would ship me a new Canon of my choice up to $200 -- F R E E!! I selected a Canon A720IS. Now, mind you, the camera I'm shipping back is only $135. BTW, I sold the Z560 on eBay for $140.

Guess who's staying home today? heh

Wow, great luck Gary! As for me, I'll just wait for the Lottery win, although I better not wait at home for that to happen!

haha I never win anything....I could spend 1,000 on the lottery and not win one cent!! So that is why I don't spend money on the lottery. When we went to Vegas my husband was mad because I wouldn't gamble. He gambled away $100.00 in one hand that lasted about 2 seconds.

Well, when the shipment got here, it wasn't a camera. It was an entire computer from Dell!! No wonder they were all in a tizzy. They must be really scrambling. They sent me a label to ship it UPS next day air! Holy cow! This one mistake cost them a small fortune. SOMEBODY'S head is on the block for this bonehead error... not a doubt in my mind. Next day air is NOT cheap!

I'd of said, forget the days pay, I'll keep the package instead!:D:D:D

I'm just trying to work out how you send a Full PC instead of a little camera. Someone must have been having a bad day, but perhaps not as bad as the day they will have once the boss gets hold of them:p

I have all the computers I need, Andy... more than I need, actually. I'm going to jettison at least one.

I priced out what this one mistake cost this company. Next day air from Dell to me = $132 + Next day air from me to the recipient = $135 + $200 for the comp camera + $47 next day air shipping on the comp camera = $514

This doesn't take into account the MASSIVE stress that must have been going on behind the scenes.

Ouch! You can bet there were some "lessons learned" on this one!

Yeh, There was a guy a while ago, I forget the company but they manufatored a electronic product. He knew he was getting the sack and so when it came to his part on the production line had did something to the goods which made them faulty. Loads of the faulty goods went out and had to be returned which cost the company quite a bit of money.

It was his leaving present to the company.

I bet he had a smile on his face for a while.

I believe it was revenge for the way he had been treated. I bet it goes on in quite a few firms in one way or another.
