I shot this image at my brother's wedding (don't worry I was not the "official" photographer). This is not one of my favorite photos taken that day but I took it for a purpose - practice.
I really don't like the picture - the color is not quite right, it's underexposed, the lighting is coming from the wrong direction and other reasons but there's a reason for posting it here... hopefully getting some of you gurus to comment on it to see how I can improve.
My main issue with this photo is that YOU CAN SEE ME in the rings! Ugh! How do you take photos like this and not see yourself? Help.

Hi Yuni,
Just do what I do....Duck! :) Or change your position slightly until you get it the way you want....BTW even though it says guru next to my avatar, I'm the furthest thing from a guru as you could be....it just has to do with the number of posts.
Yuni, I quite like the shot. I think it was a great idea to put the rings in/on the rose.
I guess I do what Sandy suggested... duck, or just change position until you cannot see yourself.
Also, as Sandy said, the title under my name also has to do with the number of posts!

This is a great idea Yuni, never seen this done before. Might have been neat to work the bride and grooms reflection in there.

Hi Yuni…will you accept input from someone beneath guru status on this one.

Honestly, I was so focused on making sure the rings STAYED that I didn't event see myself in the image until after I got home! :(
Your idea is wonderful! I think maybe next time (if there is one) I may try that.
I'd also like to try this shot again but with my ring lite this time and then the lighting won't come from the top but from the front.
I need two or three camera bodies so that I don't have to constantly be switching between my lenses. This was the problem here. No time to 'adjust' the lighting. :(
Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Hi Yuni.
The obvious thing would be a tripod and setting the camera on the timer to give you time to step away from the shot, this would reduce what is visible in the rings.
But as a guest at a wedding the last thing you would want to be carrying around with you is a tripod.
Yes you could move your position to reduce your own reflection, but that might be at the expense of the better angle or your intended angle.
So you could take the shot as you have with the intention of cloning your self out afterwards.
Would you permit me to down load your photo to give you an example of cloning and re post it back in, or are you ok with this method of editing.

Hi Yuni, this was done using Photoshop CS5, but I did the same in Paintshop Pro x2 and also Serif Photo Plus x4, any software that has a clone tool will do this.
Thank you Yuni
