View Full Version : Another Aussie in the class!
Hi, just signed up for the course and popped in to say hello! I bought myself a Canon 400D for Christmas! The last time I used a SLR was highschool some 12 years ago! I think im picking up how to use the camera pretty quickly, but like you guys I want to go to the next level and beyond! I live in Sydney, so im longing for the perfect harbour shot! Here is my effort before the course which I hope to better after I complete this course, and I know I can do better!

As you've already surmised, there are a few Aussies here (including Peter - the admin and instructor). There's also a few Brits and a few Yanks (me, for one). :D
Nice shot. I've never used a DSLR and don't currently own one. Came pretty close http://www.proudphotography.com/forum/showthread.php?t=693 and http://www.proudphotography.com/forum/showthread.php?t=731
but... no cigar :( I'm really happy with my arsenal, though.
Keep those photos coming!

Yeah Mark I know what you mean. I belong to a Moms Photography group and you would not believe how they are there!!! They are rude, not very friendly and brag about what they have "better" than everybody else. I found this so nice after being there!

hi, I'm new too. I signed up for the course. I've had dslr for a while but always used it on the auto mode. My husband upgraded my camera and I have no clue how to work it. I hope this course helps and I look forward to making new friends who share my love of picture taking and can help me understand what I am doing.

Great! I visited Aus late 2006 & have to say I have some of the greatest pictures taken there! Sunsets at the harbour and how they turn blue--just gorgeous! Your Hunter Valley & Blue Mountains are a sight to see! Also went around Jervis Bay. Just amazing! I'm sure you'll have heaps of fun with that camera!
Enjoy! Looking forward to your pictures!

Gosh I think your image is fabulous - can't wait to see what you will produce after completing the course. I am new to the course, just on my 3rd lesson, and am still learning how to use my DSLR, a Canon 5D - hopefully I will master this.
