I was going through some old photos taken on vacations and found these. I thought they were interesting subjects. No EXIF as they were taken with my first digital, an Olympus point and shoot. A whole 2.0 MP I think it was.

# 1 is a make-shift memorial on a fence around a church directly by the 9-11 site. The only building to not get damaged while so close to the blast zone. Makes one wonder how it was protected

#2 Is a NY City cop during the St. Patty's Day parade. His expression seems to mimic what most people think NY'ers attitudes are like.

#2 is a quick side shot I did. This is probably one of my best beginning shots as far as composition. The subjects are Fireman who each held a flag for each fallen comrade. There were hundreds and it made you realize just how many were lost...:(

Just thought I'd share.

Hi John

Just seen your post on New York. My wife "she who must be obeyed" and I had a short stay there in our ill spent youth in 1981. Well, I was younger then to what I am today. Great place, had a great time and I thought the New Yorkers were great people. This was before the world really turned to s**t after 911

Oh, incidentally great photo's I think the second photo says it all. It was sad for us both like a lot of people, when we saw the planes being flown into the twin towers, Our first thoughts were for all the people and rescue crews who were in the twin towers. It was doubly sad for us when we saw the remains of what was a great restruant called pipelines next to the arboretum. Our first thoughts were for all the great staff that we met when we went there and how they may have survived. I am glad I have saved heaps of video of this place and the twin towers even if it is only analog.

Regards

Delboy.
