I am more of an outdoor photographer but since I own a recording studio I need to do a lot of studio work for our clients. This is the first time I did a group shot in my little studio. I only use continuous lighting...I have never been a flash fan.. just my personal pref and I don't mean to dismiss flash users..it does have its place..just not at mine.

That drink was fun to do. The bottle really looked like that so I made the glass resemble it. They were so much fun to shoot. Thanks again Kaye. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. :)

Love this shot, Kate! Wish you would FTP me a glass of whatever they're having! Excellent lighting!

i think dark hair against a dark backdrop should consider a hairlight or rimlight.

Kate,

I have just found your photo, Excellent, I like the relaxed pose of the models and the use of a black background.

Hi Kate
Great shot. I know what monkey says about the rim light to give a bit of seperation from the background, but I love it as it is, the lack of rim lighting adds to the moody feel, and the band look relaxed and as if they are having fun. Hard to get that in a still photo. Well done! You say your not a studio photographer really.....you ought to do more!
