Just starting a new site and still adding features.

Has a social feature where can add friends, a shoutbox, popup chat, guest book, photo albums etc.

Adding more features as I sort out modules that work properly.

Hi Kaye,
Thanks Kaye, Yes got to read that message, left me bit confused though are you saying you couldn't do anymore because of needing to log in or that you couldn't log in?
Really appreciate you checking it out and taking the time to leave a message.
Cheers Craig

Thanks Joseph, appreciate you checking it out as well :)
Cheers

Thank you Kaye, greatly appreciate it. Only just discovered that if try right click to save or open in new window etc you can't actually save the image or view it. Been looking for that feature for when doing competitions :)

Craig, I would have thought if you are accessing your own shots, you should be able to right click and save or view when you want.
Go to one of your shots: TRY right click > View Image Info, then copy highlighted info.... THEN paste it to whatever site or competition you want.
I would think that this should work.

I was testing the copyright aspect, in regards to running a competition and ensuring that people can't just save the image.I know they can still do a screen capture but and copying the link location to a browser location bar and trying to view the photo that way brings up the screen of code..It's all to try prevent art-theft when I want to run competitions for the group I run else where..

Will see if it works on here or not...
http://worldphotography.craigpauliphotography.com/modules/xcgal/watermark.php?picturename=albums/userpics/10001/normal_jay%20and%20candles%200956.jpg

hmm looks like linking does work but keeps the watermark there... But if you try right click and save you will see what I mean.. then try
right click and view image. It's to try prevent people downloading other peoples photos.. Screen capture still captures and saves, but most people
tend to just try right click to save images.

Hi Kaye,
That's because it saves only the watermark overlay and not the image, if you look in the directory you saved in, there will be a file called watermark.php . That is what you would be saving, it is a script file that need a php server to view which would only be the watermark...

Hi Craig,

I have just attached the copy of your image above that I saved to my Desktop folder. So therefore I can save a copy of your photo.
I can view this image in Microsoft Picture Manager on my PC.
It does still have the watermark on it, which is normal as I just copied your shot.

Maybe when you post this to sites like Proud, it can be copied.... not sure Craig.
Maybe I should now try to copy from your site??

Hi again Craig,

I just copied this shot from your site:

Only trying to help you work out this copying thing, but obviously they can still be copied.

I don't have any knowledge on how to block copying shots, but I know there are some sites where you just cannot copy a shot, but this does not seem to work on the site you are on.

Good luck with this.

I just tried it under 3 different browsers, google chrome saves it with extension .php, ie saves it as .jpg and Mozilla saves it as a jpg but has the .php . I was trying it under chrome and when saved from it it wasn't viewable . I stand corrected I should try it under all browser first, just use to using google chrome and thought it would have done the same under the different browsers.

Thanks Kaye, was about to come on here and correct myself..

Craig, I use Mozilla Firefox.

Oh well if people are going to try save files they'll find some way to do it. The new album software I installed allows to set things up that can allow members to download original size or large images and turn it off for guests so at most they get is the smaller version. Plus it puts the members name as a water mark now compared to the website address which was something I was searching for. But now have the trouble that it doesn't like large images in size or mb. Even though my server host allows 16mb file uploads the software is baulking at 2meg and anything much bigger then 1600 wide..

Any way thanks for checking it out will keep you posted.

Look great, Craig. The only thing again is that you can save your images in large format. I just tried.

(If you want to promote this site more, I would probably start a NEW thread also).

Hi Kaye, yes I know, originally had it so only members could save and members can restrict who has access to individual albums. Any site where can view large size images people can save even if it is screen capture. My other site has it set that guests can't view bigger size images and so can only access preview size and I have the ability to set private albums for individuals so they can only access the albums for them or ones grant access to. One of those things with any site that allows viewing large size images, always leaves it open for someone to save those images.
