It seems the electronic world is abuzz with excitement about Sanyo Eneloop Batteries. For those of you who don't know what they are, http://www.eneloop.info/

Now, for the cool part for us Yanks. Costco has a whole kit on sale for $25!! Here's what you get for your dosh:


1 Eneloop Charger (you can also charge your other rechargeables with it)
8 AA Eneloop NiMH Batteries (2000mAh)
4 AAA Eneloop NiMH Batteries (800mAh)
2 C-size adapters
2 D-size adapters
A spiffy blue case for the whole shebang.


You can bet I snagged on of those babies!

Great in theory for most things. Unfortunately, I can't use this for my camera. Mine takes a specialty battery and if I don't get the right one, it'll fry the contacts, thus creating a very expensive paperweight.

Paperweights are nice. Just not made from expensive cameras or laptops -- and, I've seen some pretty expensive paperweights and doorstops! Matter of fact, my doofus son made a nice doorstop out of a computer I built him. Last one I'll ever build him. I guess he's working on cameras now...
