View Full Version : Water Abstracts
Out to lunch for a birthday yesterday - Sunday. I've been to this place many times and nothing really interesting to shoot, so waited for the late sun on the water.
I have not done much in abstracts, so feel free to let me know your true thoughts.

Beautiful. I love the last image the best. Wonderful color patterns. I'm in the middle of working on a few images along these same lines but in macro. No drops just reflection. Very cool Kaye. You're thinking differently with the new rig.
Joseph, a big thank you. I am so glad you like them. I purposely went out looking for something different yesterday. My only other choice was water and gum trees and more gum trees. I went to the same spot a few weeks ago but with my old camera and the reflections were 3 times better! Not far from home, so I can go again.
I did not do much editing on these shots, just Curves/Levels. But, the last one is a one third crop of the original. I am surprised it doesn't have more noise, but the D90 does have an inbuilt NR for high ISO's which I have turned ON.

Very nice Kaye. A good example for abstract photo. I like no2 &3 for the colours and the patterns. Did you throw the balloon there? Or it was a bonus?;)

Many thanks Bambe.

Thanks Heath... since shooting these last week, I've hardly had any time to learn more or try out my new camera again

Tenny, thank you for your reply. I am amazed at what colours and patters can be seen through a lens in the water (or on the water). The balloon was a bonus. It caught my eye, and I felt it may add something different to these shots.

Oh yes, love them all but same as Coffee said, the third one makes me keep looking.
Keep 'em coming teach'
John, what a nice reply thank you. I am glad you liked them.
Finding the time to go find the nice shots is never easy in a busy life, but I keep trying. What about a few new ones from yourself!
