Very cool shot - this really draws you in and plenty of detail in the first two medals. What camera do you use? and where was this taken?

I like this a LOT! Makes me thirsty, though. Takes me back to my old profession... a wino. :D

Okay Gary, since you started it, since I wasn't going to say anything.

When hubby and I go on road trips or vacations, the first thing we look for are the wine tastings and wineris. We even bring some home with us.

Oh good! Another wino! heheh In your case, though, it's antifreeze! http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k119/gjtoth/roflmao.gif

Thanks for the comments!

The shot was taken at a winery in Altus, Arkansas. There are several in the area, mostly family owned. This shot was taken about a three months after I bought my camera. If I had it to do over again, I drop my f/stop all the way down and really bring it in.

Yeh, I think the distant light distract a little from the photo but if you had a lower f/stop then the depth of field would be much better.

Also, the focus may have been better on the lable of the first bottle and then as the focus went out the labels became more blurred.

Just as if you had drunk each bottle. The more you drink the more blurred they become.:D:D

Although I have to admit, I am not a big lover of wine, Cider now there's a different story!:p

The problem with looking at pictures of wine, is that I now want to drink some wine. This is especially hard at present as I wish to not drink for January (new years resolution and all that!). I really like the picture though, spot on.

Jon and Andy -

I wouldn't say I "love" wine, but I do enjoy a glass now and then. This time of year, I heat wine with a "mulling" bag and enjoy. I have a nice collection of wine labels on my wall from the different wineries we've been to or from. Maybe I should take a picture of that and post it???

Why not. It's worth a try.

I have never tried heated wine,

I would definitely say I love wine, especially red! I have never tried mulled wine, must try it someday, it smells good.

I have only been to one wine tasting session in Beaune, France. It was fantastic walking around with all the old bottles and casks. The wine was fantastic and it was a good learning experience, learning about the different grapes and how better grapes were from different parts of the slope, or something like that; I'll have to swat up again by going to another wine tasting session!!

I typically go for the whites, but reds are better for mulled wine. Just remember, when mulling wine, it needs to simmer slowly for about an hour - otherwise it burns.

We've been to quite a few wineries in WA state - they're on the same parallel as France, thus they produce some very good wines. I've been to most of the wineries in the state I live in and a few in WI. Some wines were down right awful, some were very good. I have even been to a winery in the state of Nevada -if you can believe yet. And some day, I'll even make it to Napa Valley in CA.

Do they still make Aqua Velva? Wine oh I love it but I can never find my favorite here ( its very expensive and only one place sells it every now and then - Olive Garden) (Bertani Amarone) NOW I AM GOING TO BE THINKING OF THAT WINE ! Nice Photo by the way!
