Hi folks,
I guess this could fit into either this section or macro... i chose this one!
anyway. recently saw a bee crawling around after lots of little dandelions and it appeared to not be able to fly. i took to crawling around on my knees to get this one shot out of many (it wouldnt stop moving at all!!).
As it was moving so fast (didnt know bees could walk that quickly and randomly!) i set the lens to manual focus and left it alone. i then moved the camera in and out to acheive the focus where i wanted it... i hope that makes sense. the auto focus wasnt able to keep up / focus where i wanted it.
at first i thought it wasnt great..but then liked the detail i picked up in the wing and the pollen in the 'fur / hair' on the back. not your conventional 'head on' shot of a bee but i dont like being conventional!
anyway.. let me know what you think.
It was taken with my girlfriends Canon 100mm Macro lens. Meant i could be further away than i would have to be with my 60mm macro.
i can post more details of the shot later if anyone is interested in camera settings...
Thanks
Tom
