Very nice set, Marianne. Number 3 is your best of the four. Good detail and color however, the subject appears to be dead-center. If you crop the leaves away from the left side would balance it better and make it a stronger, more dynamic image. The rest are a little, very little, on the soft side. Composition-wise, number 4 is the best of the four with the main bloom just off-center enough to balance things out. Good job!

Gary, Thanks for that! Here it is, cropped. Is it better?

Terrific! Do you see how the eye is drawn RIGHT to the subject bloom like a magnet? The smaller purple blooms almost point to the subject bloom... you can't escape it! Beautiful! That's a framer.

Lovely series and pretty colours Marianne. I do agree with all that Gary has said, and love your cropped version.
I would love to have seen what you could have done shooting some of these at some different angles rather than a top view.

Hi Marianne nice shots and love your cropped version. Definitely a far stronger composition than the original. Nicely done.

Hi Marianne and lovely shots you have here.
Remember that light and shadows will give you the sense of depth to straight on shots such as these and also bring out the textures much more.
