thanks Kaye- it started as a shot of some semi-precious stones at the Houston Natural Science Museum. when I looked at it , it seemed to ask me to play. So I played with distorting the image. Once I got the flames (not that I knew that's what I wanted, I just ended up there). I then copied the image, pasted as new layer and flipped it upside down. I put it at the bottom of the first one and played with the opacity until I was happy. then voila. :)

Once I got the flames (not that I knew that's what I wanted, I just ended up there).

LOL - it's funny how you sometimes you get to the end result, but just playing around with the settings/ filters etc with no clear path!

This is a great abstract - nicely done.
