Once again this year, I have found a group for little baby spiders on one of my mums flowers.

I thought I would get my Macro out and see what sort of shots I could get.

Taken
Aperture Priority f/8
ISO 100
Flash on
Exposure bias -2
Hand held
... and quite rushed in all honesty!

I'm going to try again another day with a tripod and being a bit more patient with the wind, and getting my settings right. But I was very impressed with my lens and the detail it picked up on these tiny tiny spiders. The last two are more to emphasise how small they really are (The little flower next to them is a small Pansy, just to put it into proportion).

I'll update with my second attempt, but untill then does anyone have any CCs or tips on the best way to capture them?

Cheers

Mel

Wow Mel, these are great. Definitely will look great in Macro (I'm not a macro person though). I've never seen a baby spider before, not even only one, and you got a bunch of them:eek:. I guess the spiders really like your mum's flowers.
I like no1&2. I think if you use a tripod if possible, you don't have to use a flash. You could set at a higher aperture (f4-6.7), and slower shutter speed. If that comes out too dark, you could boost the ISO. Hope that helps.
Looking forward to seeing your second attempt:)

Hi Mel and great shots…not the kind of thing I wanted to see eating my breakfast :D:D...but that said you did very well on these.
They are tiny. I think definitely worth getting more shots.
