These are shots of some buildings/clocktowers that caught my eye whilst passing through the beautiful old town of Albury around 6 weeks ago.
(All shot in manual, and handheld). EXIF near base of each shot.

Beautiful buildings Kaye. I like the contrast colours of the sky and the buildings. It must be a very bright day. Love all the details.

Your pictures of Albury are great Kaye, I love the colours in all of them. The monument in picture #3 is called "Monument Hill War Memorial" but all the locals refer to it as "The Monument" more information can be found on this website http://www.alburycity.nsw.gov.au/www/html/474-monument-hill-war-memorial.asp. I can definitely say the green eyed monster is surfacing here:)

Thank you so much Tenny. I am glad you liked them. We had perfect weather these few days we were away, and yes, the skies were a beautiful blue which I think helps any photo. (Clouds would have been nice too, but have other shots to post in another thread with some clouds).

I really thank you for viewing these Racheal. It is not often that we can post shots where other members are familiar with the area.
Thank you so much for the name of this monument and also the link. I really enjoyed my day here, and had you seen my message, it would have been nice to meet up.

Fantastic series Kaye. I love the sky. I wish it was clear like that here. So far in May ... Only 4 rain free days to date :(

Thank you very much John. I was certainly lucky with the weather when I shot these. I still prefer to see some fluffy clouds though.

Hi Kaye,

Just getting back regarding your photos. Like them all Kaye, but can I make one or two suggestions. When taking photos of buildings if possible make sure the sun is about three quarters on the front of the building. For example as I like photographing architectural features etc I always try to ensure these features stand out. You have achieved this perfectly in #5. In #2 there is an old lamp hanging on the front of the building. If the sun was a little further round this would have shown up better. As I said they are all good, but if possible I would have gone back and photographed #1 & #2 when the sun was fully on the front of the Station. It is easy to say that but sometimes you don’t have the time to go back and you have to take the photo there and then. The only other comment I can make is, I am always aware of buildings leaning back if you point the camera skyward, so I try and get back as far as possible to avoid things leaning. Does not work at times and this is where delboy takes over with Photoshop! Keep up the good work Kaye looking forward to seeing more of your building shots.

Regards

Mrs Delboy

Thank you so much Mrs. Delboy for taking the time to view these and for all your help and expertise.
I can see exactly what you mean about No. 5 with the sun on the front of the building. This shot I took earlier in the day on our walk through the town and knew straight away this one would look better.
Some of the nicer buildings happened to be on the "wrong" side of the road with the sun rising slightly behind them. I did try a couple, but as you say they come out dark and with less detail.

I tried some night shots of the station building which did not turn out that well, and was determined to get a couple of day shots. As we were only passing through Albury, I had to capture these in a bit of a rush when leaving the town.
Next time I find some nice old buildings, I will certainly keep all your great pointers in mind.
Thanks again for your help.
