Hey bpeltier, very nice work on these portrait shots of the young woman. I like the poses, and the way that you got in nice and close to the subject. In the shot where she's looking over her shoulder, I find that she's a little too crammed into the bottom left corner of the frame. You usually don't want so much dead space in front of her, cause it leaves things feeling kind of unbalanced. The close-up shot with the red striped shirt was good, but the shadows around the eyes were also a little strong. Since you had the main key light coming from the upper right side, I might have put a reflector on her left to help fill in the shadows a bit, without adding the harshness of a 2nd light.

The last shot of the young woman in the t-shirt worked out much better, lighting wise, and i kind of like the expression better with her smile. Looks like you brought the light down more to her level, which definitely gave her a more even tone throughout the image. In this case, I think having the light lower was better than having it higher like it was in the other two. Good focus, nice crop, and good setup with the strong black background.
