We have a zoo just outside the city limits. ( I didn't even know about it) Anyway. It's just a small zoo, not like the big major ones. Most of the animals are kept behind tall chain link fences, so it was difficult to get a decent shot. I was lucky enough that Mr. Stripes stayed still long enough for me to get close to the fence and focus through it. I got this shot of him and he started moving around.
CC most welcome.
Thanks for lookin"

Thats clever John, As you say B&W but not B&W. a little bit of colour of the eyes gives the game away. Great shot.

Thanks for looking and the comment. I guess I could have titled it black and white or... White and black too :)

Very nice John! I love that you filled the frame with him! He has lovely long eyelashes too. I love taking my camera to the zoo!

Thanks for looking Marianne and the nice comment. Most pictures I have seen of zebras have have the frame filled in and I wS trying hard. I was lucky enough to zoom between the fence before he moved.

Hi John I love the abstract feel of this shot. Good composition of those stripes as well leading to that almost hidden eye. Very nice shot.
Hi John,
What a wonderful close up shot of this zebra. You have captured some beautiful detail here, especially the eye and lashes.

Thanks Kaye, Shirley and Wanda. I took this shot on a hope and a prayer. I didn't think it would turn out Since I had to focus through a chain linked fence. One of those shots I guess that turns out to be a good one :)
Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been busy busy as of late.

Nice choice of composition John. Like this a lot.
I feel this is kinda like an abstract of a non-abstract subject ........
Hey where is that little zoo anyway, neighbour?

Here is the link to the zoo. It's not a big one. A nice place to take the young ones though or for photographers. Its Just outside of Brantford.
