Just wondering if a image like this could be classified as being abstract? I took this just after the floods in Jan this year as a dedication to the Volunteers that were helping with the massive clean up after the flood.Changed wb and increased saturation to max to get the effect.

Hi Craig I am open to correction here but IMO I would not classify this as abstract. To me 'abstract' is something that has a pattern of some sort and often it is not discernible as to what has been photographed. This is just my interpretation which I hope helps a bit.

Hi Craig, from what I have learned and read, I must agree with what Shirley has said here.
Maybe check out some of the abstract shots on PP. I know there are some interesting posts on this.

Interesting edit, I like what you did to it. Might not be abstract, but it has a neat artsy feel.

Hi Craig, I like what you have done on this one and even if it doesn’t come under abstract it’s a good shot and nice editing on it.
Abstract keeps you guessing to what you are actually looking at and that’s half the idea of it…to keep people looking and trying to figure it out.

Thank you all for the comments, strangely the only post editing on this was bringing the saturation up a tiny bit. Played with wb and upped the sauturation to the max taking the photo to try achieve the look I wanted straight from camera. Your comments are greatly appreciated, got a first off tonight, doing some photos of a young couple at night where I normally do my city shots at night. Hopefully I don't forget all I learnt from the course so far and from you all in the forums.
Cheers Craig.
