The weather has been pretty rough lately with a storm system that has been over NZ for the last 10 days (I think Kaye may have had a bit of the same system in Sydney) Decided to go out and photograph anything. Came across these steers in a paddock. They are a French breed of cattle but can’t remember the name. They just stood there and let me take the photo. We call this photo “Meet the family. George, the twins Bill & Ben, Fred and Albert.”
EOS7D EF 24-105 f4L IS USM Lens
1/250 @ f8 ISO800 FL55.0 Hand held manual focus. Rain cover over camera(plastic bag) Brolly over photographer held by "she who must be obeyed" gum boots for the mud, and a flask of good whiskey to keep the Waikato cold out.
Delboy.
Delboy, I just love it, what a great family portrait and nice sharpness on them all. I think you may be right, I am sure Bill & Ben must be twins.
This must be their favourite spot where they stand to watch humans all day  as this is the only patch in the paddock that is worn out!
I must agree Delboy, we have had an unusually cold system pass through in the last couple of weeks with several very windy days. Have also had our share of rain, and more expected I believe. I hate winter.

Love the family Delboy but must say Bill looks hacked off with the weather :). As Kaye says the fence looks like a favourite spot. Great shot.

Thanks Kaye, we had to drive pass this spot the other day and there they were all standing and watching the traffic. I am like you cannot stand the winter.

Thanks Marianne, I feel it always pays to carry a camera. Cattle are not all that camera shy, quite the opposite, they will stand and watch what you are doing. One of the things I want to do is, go to a friends farm and take photos of his cattle coming into the milking shed, but to do that I have got to get up early in the morning. Try and avoid that these days but possibly will have ago in the summer.

Thanks Shirley. Your right Bill has always been a grumpy kid, nothing pleases him. I suppose there’s always one in a family.
Thank you all
Delboy.
