I really thought I posted this this morning but maybe I never hit the submit button.
I took this on my walk this morning. It's not great but wanted to see what you all thought.
Too much PP?

Mary -
I think this looks fine - you can see the texture of the snow and how bright it is.

Thanks, Debbie...the leaf wasn't this bright so I enhanced it in PS. I liked how it put the shadow on the snow. I was pretty desperate for something to shoot this morning!:D
And the reason I put it in the landscape forum? It used to be green and attached to a tree, that would make it landscape, right? :D:D

Absolutely - just fallen landscape.

You know me and macros/close-ups :) This is really nice. Cold, but nice. Are you shooting freehand?

Yep, its a bit hard to carry the tripod around with me on my 3 mile walk....:D...I was using my 70-300 mm lens so 2 foot away is about as close as the lens will focus. In between pictures, the camera was tucked inside my coat.
Cold, what gives you that idea? Just because it was 6 degrees!
Thanks, Gary!

Have you considered a Mono Pod? I carry one as a walking stick and if a photo op presents itself I just snap the camera on and take my shot. They are not terribly expensive and work quite well.

Yes, Kenny, I've been thinking very seriously about it. In fact, I just won a bid for a new tripod and was searching the mono pods at the time. I just told my friend that I thought I'd use a mono pod more than a tripod because of ease of use. We went to the Medieval Times dinner theater in Chicago a couple years ago and I told my hubby that a mono pod would have been useful there. I tried shooting off my drink glass...:D and that helped me get images that I wouldn't have got with out. So...but I never thought of using it as a walking stick...you have convinced me to go ahead and order one. Thanks!

That is too funny - using your drink glass. I hope it was empty. I would hate to think there was something in there and it fell.

Ok, its not a smiley face, but it is "TAKEN" :D:D:D:D
As long as the wind isn't blowing, that walk is still as beautiful now as it is in 70 degree weather. In fact, I enjoy it more at 6 degrees than I do at 100 degrees. I can put plenty of layers on but I get arrested if I start taking it all off...
Remember...I work in all kinds of weather, so my body is acclimated to most all weather. Course, 1400 layers helps too.:D

It was all I could come up with..my hubby would not let me use his bald head...:D:D
Here is one that came out...not fantastic but considering I was real new to SLR and had not a clue what I was really doing, it wasn't bad.

Yeah - the bald head thing isn't the greatest or flatest.
Not too bad??? For new to DSLR, this is great.
BTW - I brought the camera to work today.

The Bald head thing depends on how deep the thumb print is! :D:D

Kind of narrow minded of the husband not thinking it was funny. Like you, I see the humor in it.
