The instructor I had stresses that when you take a picture, go back 1-2 years later, take the same photo and notice the difference.

Local Community Ed through the school system - every quarter they sponsor different kinds of classes, covering basic computer skills, dance, financial planning, all sorts of crafts, and a ton of other classes.

A couple of the photo classes are taught by a photographer w/3-0+ years shooting film and slides. Wonderful instructor - very patient. The photo classes run about $60 and we go on field trips to all sorts of cool places.

WOW I would love to find something like that around here. We used to have them at a local vo-tech school but they have not offered that in a while.

I'd give anything if they had something like this around here. We don't even have a photography club that I know of. My friend Sherry from Tennessee is in a photography club and they go on weekend shoots and such. I'd love it, especially to work with a professional that would tell me how to take the shot...maybe then more of this would stick in my mind so that I could do it when I was by myself.

It is a lot of fun to go with a professional, you learn so much more. I'm taking a B&W class now and yesterday we went to downtown Mpls for some shots and today we're going to some old farms. I'm also in a local photo club that has a theme every month.
