Wellllllllllll... live & learn. I asked on the DPR Oly forums if there was a way to blur or take out the reflections on those Max Lucado shots. Check these out!!

It's done my selecting the area you want to LEAVE AS IT IS, invert or reverse the selection and then, fill with blur. Really slick!

Gary -

Even with the crowd in the back, I prefer the original. It's more crisp. Great technique though.

Gary I really like both of the photos. Each one is unique in its own way. I think the subjects stand out so much better with the blur (of course). I do like both though! :D

I prefer the first photo. Great tool to have.
Although like Debbie said, the second picture is more crisp.

Gary, I tried to do this tonight but I did not get the desired result. Is it possible for you to walk through it in gimp for me please.

Easy peasy, Andy.

With the Lasso Select, select the area you don't want blurred
Up in the menu select "Select"
Select "Invert"
Go to the "Filters" then select the one you want for the UNSELECTED AREA.

Here's an example that should look familiar heheheh I used a oval selector and did a horizontal shift set to high settings on the area

Play with it a while. There are lots of possibilities in the filter or you can fill it with a solid color or pattern...

Thanks Gary, it all sounds so easy!

I'll have a play with it.
