These guys were quite happy for me to be in their area taking their pictures but just prior to this shot, a dog came a little too near to the swans as I had my eye in the viewfinder, suddenly, the swans were hissing like mad and I nearly fell over backwards :o
But I was ok, it was the dog they were after, so I carried on with my shots and here are some of the results.

Well - at least you didn't fall over backwards into the water. Another nice shot.

That could have been disastrous!

Were you using a tripod for these?

No Gary, I wasn't using a tripod, it was handheld.

It would have been funny if I had fell into the water but not very good for the camera.

:D:DThat would have been a chuckle moment....I've got to ask...why are some of them gray and some white?

The Gray ones are the signets (babies) The adult swans were very protective on the babies especially when the dog came anywhere near. I would not have liked the dogs chances, although, it might have been a good picture.

It is indeed becoming a friendship forum rather than just a photography forum. I too have learnt more than photograhpy which is great. What ever did we do before we had the internet?
