Inspired by Kaye's "Little Parachutes" post from last Fall, I rarely come across a dandelion but I did today. A tiny one, I shot over 100 photos of it with varying backgrounds and settings and settled on these. Thanks for looking!!

Hi Marianne,
These are lovely and I love the way you have tried different backgrounds.
I am so glad that some of my shots have inspired you. I am surprised you do not have many dandelions there. We have them everywhere! (Except for when I want one)!!

My personal favourites are 3 and 4. I think the sharpness is better in these, also assisted by your choice of background.
If I were shooting these, I would probably try for a composition with the head of the dandelion more towards the bottom right third.

Keep up the great work. You have been so busy :)

Hi Marianne I like your experimentation with a variety of compositions and backgrounds. For me #2 really stands out. I love your composition here with the dandelion & vase nicely placed. All the attention is on what looks like pin points of light on the central seeds with good focus. I like your choice of DOF giving soft edges to the dandelion head & dropping away to a hint of the vase with the light catching it in the background. My second choice would be #1 but IMO the composition isn't quite as strong. Nice shots Marianne.

I love your experiments, Marianne! These shots are quite lovely and I like the different compositions and DOF you went with for each. I like #2 for it's composition, sharpness and DOF but I also like #4 for its sharpness and warm background colors. I'd love to see the composition of #2 with the background on #4. Very nicely done.

Eddie, Shirley and Kaye,

Thanks for your feedback. My neighborhood is pretty well groomed, so these don't pop up too often!! I appreciate your comments on these, as it really helps me improve my photography!!

It has all been said but #4 is the one I like best,it is so clear and sharp and jumps out of the black back ground. Excellent Marianne

Regards

Delboy.

Thanks Delboy!! I hope to find more of these, as they are a bit rare around here. I will take your suggestion of blowing the parachutes a bit, too! You are so kind!!!
