These are all separate shots of one Dandelion that I took in front of different colours. I just wanted to put the three together to see how it turned out.
Thanks for viewing.

Kaye I love what you have done here! Your focus is so nice and sharp on the parachutes and the color behind them so vivid. Great inspiration for me!

Hi Marianne,
Thanks for your thoughts here. I only took these yesterday, and when I viewed it with the 3 colours, I wondered how they would look as a set.
I had to darken the red and yellow a touch to try to have a similar saturation, as the blue was quite bright.

Kaye,
This was with the Tamron, right - did you use a tripod? You get such sharp images, what's your secret?

Inventive and artistic ........ I have seen people sell pics not half as good as yours. I would hang it.
Up on our 42" LCD this is stunning, I just love your work.

Thank you for the really kind comment John.
Yes I used the Tamron. (By the way, have you owned your Tamron 90mm for long or is it a recent purchase)??

I did not use a tripod for these. Too impractical with the way I work with flowers. (I use tripod or remote shutter sometimes inside). This particular dandelion I was hand-holding in one hand against the coloured background whilst I shot with the other.. (the red and yellow being a flower in the garden, and the blue background was a blue tarpolan over our small boat). If I was to put the Dandelion down, all the seeds would have fallen off

My settings were: f/4, 1/500 on red and yellow, and 1/1000 sec on the blue. I don't have a real secret for getting sharp images, as I get many images that are not sharp also :D I either hold a small breath, or take the shot whilst slowly breathing out. (I know most prefer breathing out). If I can prop my body against something, this also help me stay still and stop from swaying 1 cm forward or backwards which blurs the shot.

I have never seen my shots on a screen larger than my 20" monitor... I am so glad you liked it on your 42" LCD.

Thanks again John.

Thank you very much Craig for your kind remarks.

I have attached a thumbnail of the 'red' dandelion in my first post, and have posted the larger version here, as this was my favourite of the three. I did up the saturation of the reds a little in this one compared to the triple shot.

Kaye, I really like how you did this. Did you place the dandelion on a colored matte.

Very creative Kaye, great imagination. I wish I had this kind of forethought.

Did you ever get your stock sites rolling? I remember us talking about it many months ago.

Take care.

Hi Marianne,
I could not place the dandelion as it was pretty fragile. I hope you don't mind, but I will paste below part of my reply to John on Page 1 where I explained what I did, settings, etc.

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for viewing these and I really appreciate your kind response. I must say, I seem to find my imagination works better with flowers than other subjects :)

I finally managed to register with Shutterstock, but have not been brave enough to yet submit my initial 10 shots, due to their strictness on noise. I thought I should improve some more before doing this.

I have recently registered with Fine Art America. I find it quite interesting with lots happening if you want to take part. What I like about it is that you decide what you want to put on your shot over and above their set price, so if you sell an image, you know exactly what you will get.
Some of my shots are not noise free, but would be suitable for smaller prints.

Please feel free to have a look. This is my site (set up through FAA): kaye-menner.artistwebsites.com

I hope you and the family are all well.

Thank you Sandra. You are so kind. I would hang it, but I really don't have any free wall space :)
