This was from last year. It was getting really really warm out and the snow had melted and just the ice was left. It was around 60 degrees (wow can I dream. These photos are not the best, but they show the geese! There is a picnic table after picnic table here, but you can't have a picnic because they surround your table and will NOT let you eat! Not to mention it's unsanitary.

Food!! I never thought of taking them food. Maybe than I could get a more close up...what do they eat?

I've been told my many people how the geese are so dirty and they wish they would leave but I still like taking photos of them.

Is this your daughter? She is a cutie...

I'll be taking me some bread next weekend. It's suppose to get cold again, so will probably have to deal with the vapors again.

You'll be doing them a WHOLE lot better if you fed them corn. It's cheaper, too. You can get a #40 bag at Home Depot for less than $5 and it's better for them. Bread swells and has no nutritional value for birds. Sure, they'll eat it. But, they'll eat anything that they can get in their beaks. heheh

On yeah... WHOLE corn. Cracked corn is more expensive and they don't seem to like it as well.

Seeing as you as situated in a somewhat rural setting, you may want to check some local feed stores, Mary. You could probably pick up more of a better quality corn for a BUNCH less. I just use Home Depot because it's close. But, if I'm out and about in the rural areas, I'll stop by one of these feed stores and can usually snag a bag of just about anything (corn, oilers, thistle seed) that is better quality (less filler) for a better price.

I think I know where that's at!

Whilst beautiful to behold, Canadas... waterfowl, in general, tend to be "nasty". Especially, in a large group.

This is a nice candid shot, Sue. Of course, I'm a sucker for Canadas. The kid's nice, too. heheheh
