Everyone starts by reading the booklet that comes with the camera! That's standard practice.Once you have taken some photographs and found your way around the camera just take it everywhere and capture anything that appeals to you. Try to find different and interesting angles to shoot from. Lying on the floor, shooting upwards, shooting downwards. Everyone one shoots from the eye - it gets boring.When you are sufficiently captivated and want to know more about photography enroll on a college or univeristy course. You'll love what you can do once you learn some technical and trade secrets.Best of Luck with your camera.

Congratulations on your new camera. Time now for a reality check. Find a nice comfy chair in a quiet place. Now read and study your Owner's Manual. Go over one feature/setting at a time and learn it. Practice using it with your camera. Once you feel confident with that particular feature/setting then go to the next one. Make notes as you go so you can review.Consider taking a photography class at your local high school or community college. If you have to use a 35mm film camera all the better (film cameras are fairly cheap these days and you can always sell it later). Its the best way to learn about how the relationship of light, IOS, aperture (aka f-stop) and shutter speed combine to make a good exposure. You'll also learn about composition. Good luck.

Once you've familiarized yourself with your camera, you can also go down to your local library and check out some books on basic photographic techniques. You'll get far more detailed instructions there, with illustrations, than you will here.I would also suggest that you look into joining a local camera club. You'll find lots of helpful people there. Most camera club members are eager to share their knowledge and are willing to help beginning photographers.

ah its more complicated than digging holes, try photography school or asking a specific questiona

iTunes has some great podcasts about photography for beginners. All free , so the only thing you have to loose is time.Just remember any shot can be art, its just the way you look at it.

You ask about suggestions for subjects for your pictures, this will vary wildly from one person to another. Find something that interests you. If you like wildlife get out into the country or whereever, and have a look what you can see. I love going for walks and taking my camera, not only do I get some nice pics but I also enjoy the walk. So bonus on all fronts really.
