View Full Version : Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, grooming

I was out with my macro lens (Tamron 90mm f2.8) not intending to shoot birds, but this lens did not do a bad job.
Both of these are crops of the same shot. No. 2 is cropped quite a lot from the original and No. 1 is cropped severely... due to my limit of 90mm.

Hi Kaye. It's a beautiful shot. Your focus was amazing. Great sharpness and details. I think the bird was whispering to its friend: "Don't look, but someone's taking our picture!"

Thank you very much for your comment here. I have to agree, it does look like one is whispering to the other!
I have not taken many distance shots with my macro lens, but it can produce some nice sharp shots. I want to try some portrait shots with it later too.

Really great shots. I agree that one is whispering to the other. Your macro lens is quite versatile isn't it?

Thanks very much Marianne. Yes, I am really happy with the Tamron macro. It also allows more light than my other lenses.
