Nothing likes Garys birds but here are a few which visited us whilst we were away. These pics were taken through a very dirty window (Beyond my control) so I appologise that they are not as clear as they could be but here we go.

Do you know what kind of bird that black one is, Andy? I like the 3rd one of the sparrows. Nice composition and interest. Pity about the windows being dirty. Any way you can PP them cleaner? heheheh

Andy, try this. Open them up in the Gimp and click "Colors", "Auto", "White Balance". Then, go to "Filters", "Enhance", "Unsharp Mask". Change the "Amount" to .80 and click OK.
Let me know what you think, OK?

Cheers Gary, I'll give it a try tomorrow. I'm off to bed very soon.
The black bird is called a blackbird (as far as I am aware anyway.)

And finally, here is one where I have taken the robin from the 2nd shot and cloned it into the first photo.

At least the window's "clean", eh? I was hoping you'd pick the first blackbird shot to try it on because here's what I came up with.

Andy - other than the dirty windows, which is beyond your control, I like the first one without the cloning. You may try boosting constrast a little bit, then sharpen. This one just stands out as my favorite.

Thanks, I had great fun looking for these birds each day. The blackbird visited most days but I only saw the robin twice. I would taunt me, It would show up, wait until I had got the camera out and then do a runner!
Sadly, I am back at home now and the bird feeders that I have put out so far have not attracted any birds! I don't know why but they just dont seem interested.

Where are they located, Andy? Too close or too low can make all the difference. Here are a couple links to help you out:

Cheers Gary, I'll take a photo through the window to show the location.
