Visitor in my Yard

This fairly large Blue Tongue lizard decided to slither through the fence to say hello whilst I was getting my washing in.

Hi Kaye, this is a beautiful shot. Even though i'm not a fan of reptiles, and can't see it for too long, i can still see the clarity and the details of the image. I like the composition too.

My aim was to get good focus on the eye which is not too bad when you enlarge this to full screen.

Wow, Kaye, the detail in your visitor is incredible! And the focus on his eye is so sharp! Very good image! Nice of him to wait while you ran inside for your camera! Our lizards scurry around so fast, I doubt I'll ever be able to capture one!

Thanks for your comment Marianne. Whilst getting the washing in, I did have my camera outside with me:D I left the washing to get a shot of a colourful leaf, and along crawled the lizard about 2 feet away from me. He did stay still for a minute, but was in a dark spot near the fence, so my shutter speed was only 1/200.
