Hi all
I caught this bird hanging out of the branches just over my balcony.
Its an OK shot i would reckon but I couldn't catch the bugger at any other angle in fear of scaring him away.
let me know what ye all think.
Thanks
Regards
John

Short term memory is the first thing to go.. heheheh He's a beaut, John. Do you have any feeders up to get him in at a better angle? You can always just take a blob of peanut butter and place it where you want to shoot him from.

Very nice and clear with great DOF. The only thing visiting my yard right now is a rabbit that's getting fat on my shrubs. Little &*^(*^*, but if we decide to trap the litte bugger, he sure will taste good on the bar-b-que!!!

I think its a wonderful photo, John....the bird is crystal clear and the background is blur just enough to enhance the bird...in fact, I like how you have the house as background...kind of gives you the feeling that its a bird house...
Great shot.

Birds love peanut butter. I've cut an orange in half, scooped it out, then added a bird seed/peanut butter mix, then hang it in the tree. I've also coated pine cones with the bird seed/peanut butter mix. Great protein source for the birds.

There's even suet made with peanut butter. It's one of the top nature photographer's tricks. Works great!

I did not know this...but I've got it written down now and going to try it tomorrow after I go to the grocery store and get some oranges. I'll eat the orange and the birds can have the rind with their peanut butter mix. I haven't got any bird feeders yet...:(...but I can feed them this way.
Thanks, Debbie!

I can see I'm going to have to do some reading up on feeding birds and other animals so I can get better shots. I always wondered how they got such great shots and close up too...now I know...they are baiting them...:D

Nice one John, It's a shame that the branch is in the way but as others have said, it is very good clarity on the bird. I too did not know that about peanut butter, perhaps, I will give that a try too.
