16467At the San Diego zoo. I thought this coloring was most unusual! It was a very large bloom, too.

Hi Marianne,
What a fancy Hibiscus... I don't think I have seen one quite like this. Lovely shot with nice comp and detail. The stamen is nice and sharp too.
Personally, the 4 bright white spots I think spoil this nice shot. I think it would look nicer if you could use burn tool on them to tone them down a little, or clone them out, but more time consuming!

Love the colors on this Hibiscus, Marianne, and the shot has some good depth. I agree with Kaye's point about the blown highlights, although I think if the two right behind the Hibiscus were gone, I don't think the other two at the top left and right would bother me at all. Can't wait to see some more of your shots from the zoo.

Lovely bloom Marianne, most unusual ..... hope there are some out when we get to the Zoo, (hopefully) next year.
Isn't it a shame that background sometimes gets distracting too ...... "Bokeh - can't live with it, can't live without it"

I have edited as best I could. My pp skills are not too sharp, so let me know if it looks better now. Thanks Eddie and John for your thought shere.
Hi Marianne,
Great edit... I think it looks so much better without the distraction of that bright glare.
