Ok, I went back through our lessons and found this technique. I sat there and worked on it over and over until I was satisfied. I tried letting enough light in to make some harsh white blowouts and then zoomed quickly to get the starburst effect...What do you guys think of this as an abstract?

there is a definite sense of movement and I like how you draw the eye to the flower. The burst works like a leading line and you have the rule of thirds covered nicely too :) My only nit is that I wish a part of the flower in the centre was more in focus.

Judy, it is really cool. I also think the center flower may be a tad more blown out than should be. But, what the heck, abstract is abstract!!

Bambe, I wasn't sure if it should be in focus or not for abstract. I'll go back and shoot some with it in focus and see how it looks...Thanks for the comments.

I'm going to shoot so me more and get the flower more in focus. And I do think I'll cut down on the blown out bit. It is a bit much to me too. And I think that was my train of thought during the shoot. I was trying for anything that might be abstract. But I got this idea and then tried to over do I think...Thanks for the comments...they really do help.
