OK help me out here.
I was happy with the overall 2photos, the fountain had enough slow shutter speed for the desired effect. Sadly the reflections from the flood lights ruined this shot. Any ideas how I could have compensated for this?
Cairns Lagoon 1 is particular disturbing - so apart from cropping or having changed the position (which was the obvious thing to do in hindsight) what would have done?
Thanks Ingrid

Ingrid-

I think trying from another angle may have worked, maybe in front of the flood lights to block some of the glare or cropping in tighter. Otherwise, I like the effect.

You did use a CPL, right? Possible a filter to deaden them?

NO CPL used as it was twilight and then later in the evening.
A great swimming lagoon and has floodlights wherever you look. Oh well, might have to do daytime shots only.

You could always get somebody to cut the power to the lights then whilst someone is looking for the fuse box, get a few pics in quick. ;):D

I too like the overall effect, like you say, it is a shame about the lights.

You are a deviat snapper! Now why did I not think of that?
Too many security cameras about. Drats. Well at least I managed to get the ghosting of the swimmers under the waterfountain and the others just disappeared like magic :) The water droplets out of the fish sculptors worked well as well. Just looked like one big spray. Have to be happy for small mercies. All a lovely big learning curve. Isn't it?

Ah you see though, if the power is cut, then the security cameras will not work either :D:D

Have you considered double exposure? You had your camera on tripod anyway, so do the first shot metered for the lights, second one as long exposure and combine the two in Photoshop.

Thankyou all for your input. I will try to recapture that photo, next time we are cruising the Esplanade.
