Africa - Mombasa
Thought I would add a few photos of my recent visit to Africa. All photos taken with my Canon 5D MK II, with various lenses, although mstly a Canon 70 - 200 mm L series. I would like to asl what people think. Please be honest, its the only way I can improve.
Thanks

Re: Africa - Mombasa
Hi Jim I really like your shots from the way you have captured the essence of Africa. I also think your composition in the first 3 very good.
#1 I really think you have capture emotion in this shot. The strip of bright light behind the lady is a bit distracting but you could not ask her to move and still capture the moment! Good DOF and focus.
#2 I just love but I think I would have liked to see a bit more below the children's feet. Nice DOF and I like the composition of your background.
#3 is my favorite, with, IMO, the best composition and exposure and I just love the turquoise shoes in her hand.
beautiful bird in #4, pity you missed the rest of the wing but I wouldn't even have managed this much
.
#5 I love the expression you have captured but IMO your focus and composition are not as good in this as the rest.
A great series and I have enjoyed viewing these.

Re: Africa - Mombasa
Hi Jim I really enjoyed your pics
agree with Shirley on her comments
I really like #2 the comp is great the DOF is good
the tree is behind her good waiting or if like me sometime it is still luck I get so intent on the subject that I forget about things like trees not sticking out of their heads ( :
I like the way the branch curves around her head
looking forward to more

Re: Africa - Mombasa
Wow.
All very nice.
Number one - the story is in her eyes so I would tighten up the shot .
Number two- Again it is more about the faces of the mother and children so move in. Less is more here I think.
Three- wouldn't change a thing
Four- the clipped wing doesn't really bother me. The lighting is great.
Five- the backlighting hurts the shot so move if you can
Overall really well done

Re: Africa - Mombasa
Thank you all for your kind and informative comments. By the way these shots stand as they are, I have not done anything to them in photoshop. I took 3000 photos all told and these are just a few that I liked.
