Very beautiful, Doug. They are such a lovely color and I like your shallow DOF.
In the second shot, I would be tempted to try cropping out the foreground which for me is a bit of a distraction. This would leave you with a square image (which I quite like sometimes) with your main crocus in the left bottom third.

Ahhh, crocus. That's what those little flowers are. I have them all over in front of the garage and house. Never knew what they were. They are out this far North as well already... is this really only March?
I like these shots. I like the first one the best because of the lighting and very slightly deeper DOF than the 2nd one.
