    Wide-angle lens and vignetting

    Hello all!

I recently purchased a wide angle lens that screws onto an existing lens since I can't afford a real wide angle lens to go with my camera. I tried it with my 14-42 mm lens and got some serious vignetting, but with my 40-150 mm I didn't. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do or how to use it, some help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Kim

    Re: Wide-angle lens and vignetting

A screw-on wide angle is always a compromise at best. Did you try zooming in a little and see if the vignetting lessens?

Are you aware that most vignetting can be easily dealt with in photoshop or similar, or that with some careful cropping, most of it could be removed?

Post a pic that shows some vignetting and lets see if we can address it in post processing. Not only could you see the results, I personally would look at it as a way to practice... lol.
