DANG! That a great shot, Lornem! Well-worth chasing him down, eh?

Heck of a chase he led you on!

I think its an awesome shot... the only thing is that the nearer wing is lightly softer. Had you closed down the aperture a little you would have had him all in focus... obviously I am just nitpicking and to add to that, on my dual monitor setup, on the uncalibrated side, you cannot notice this, but on the calibrated side, its easily spotted.

Very nice shot! I also can see the softness a little bit. On my screen it is more pronounced on the bottom of the wing on the left. It still is very nice. When I find a nice photo op such as that, I never have time to mess with my aperture. I just take the photo, and I am glad that I even got it. This photo is beautiful. It almost looks like velvet!

Lornem - very nice shots. Is this in a sanctuary or just a park? I've been watching for the monarchs here, but I just heard a report that because of the odd weather we've had in the states, we're not going to see a lot this year. Good thing you weren't attacked by the bees.

Just stunning and beautifully captured. How lucky you are. I am still trying to be quick enough to photograph butterflies here.
