    Newport Beach overlook - Sydney

This is a shot I took overlooking Newport Beach on a beautiful day. My battery had run out in my camera, so I turned it off for a while, then turned it back on and managed to get two more shots. I have always liked this first one, but would be interested to hear what I could have done better

This is the second shot I managed to get with my flat battery. I altered the colour in this one numerous times, and I still have not got it right! I think too much colour....
Any ideas ?? to improve photo.

Please bare in mind I have no idea about the technical side of photography so this is literally just personal opinion but... in the 1st shot the foreground interest seems a little cut off from the rest of the shot and therefore a bit out of place, if you could have included a bit more beach to the left it would have linked the 2 sections nicely? Other than that and the grass in the foreground they're brilliant shots, fantastic colours! Nice composure.

Thanks so much for your comments and opinion. I also wondered about the grass at the front. Some have the opinion it may create a bit of depth in the photo, but it is so small, maybe I could get rid of it in Photoshop and resubmit it.
As I had a flat battery, I was battling long grass and a fence to get the shot. I agree it would have been nicer with a bit more beach to match the other one, but then (having just one shot left in camera) I wanted an ocean view.
