Question about POTM

When viewing the images in the POTM that are being voted on, do they show up in the placing that they are at at that time, or are they in a random order? I ask because I like to follow how they are doing as the voting continues and I only have the vote point average to go on, which doesn't really tell me anything as far as placing. Thanks

There is a formula that takes into account number of votes and vote scores and turned into overall points. The one with the most points win in the end.
