Hi guys, I'm an absolute novice at this. How do I post any of my pics on here for you experts to give me some advice.
Just remember I am old and the grey matter is slowing down don't get too thecnical I'll have a seizure.
I've only joined this forum today and I have to say I've seen some amazing pics. I'm a complete novice at this even though I am 61 years young, but still willing to learn and take advice.

Hey Treetop, welcome to the group. If you can't figure it out, just holler, I'll help you out. Its really pretty easy and it has nothing to do with old age! I've seen plenty of young people who couldn't figure it out either. We are only as old as we feel...in my mind, I could run right out to the front yard and told cartwheels. Not that I would do that...might hurt something I need to shoot with! We used to have a grand old guy on this forum who helped me in a big way...too bad he isn't here anymore...you would have liked him.

It's putting images on to a thread such as this that I'm having trouble with.

Ok...where do you want to put your images? If you are taking the course, you are allowed to upload up to 500 mb of images or you can upload to a Flickr or Photobucket account. Both of these are free and you just have to register. Until I know exactly where you are storing your photos, I can only give you general instructions. If you upload to Flickr...go to your Flickr account and chose the photo that you want to share here...be sure and click on the photo so it brings it up in the 'all sizes' window...then choose a size. I usually upload 1 mb photos, so I choose the large size. Underneath the photo you will see 2 fields. Number 1 is for posting to a webpage and number 2 is the field that you want. It is titled 'Grab your photo URL' and under it is a string of words that begin with HTTP. Highlight this whole string and copy it. Now come back to here and Post a new thread. When the message window opens, just type what you want and then click on the yellow square with a mountain on it above. It will open another window with a space for you to paste the link that you copied off your Flickr photo. Click OK and your photo will be in the message window.
If you use Photobucket, click on the image you want to use and once it loads in a new window, you will see a box to the right of it that says 'share this image'. In that box you will see a direct link. All you have to do is click once where it says HTTP and it will let you know that it is copied by saying copied in yellow. Then just come back here and do the same as above and paste your copied link into the field that pops up when you click on the yellow square with the mountain on it. Clear as mud, right?

Since this is in the critiuqe corner I will do that. You have major clipping in the highlights and shadows. The image also need better composition.
