sd-to-xd converter?

OK... Here's one for you all:

All the memory cards I currently own are SD. My new camera is XD. Is anyone aware of an adapter/converter to take my SD card and stick it in an XD device to allow them to be used with my new SP-550UZ?

If not, looks like I'll have to go out and buy a bunch.

Peter? Anyone?

Hi Garry,
This is the sort of thing you are looking for I believe but this is to Compact flash, cant see one that takes it to XD but worth contacting Maplin to see if they do do one.

Right you are, Andy. I'm doing an extensive Google search right now. There MUST be something out there.

If you can afford it though Garry, would it be best to have the dedicated card as an adaptor card may not work as well as the real thing if you see what I mean. I have seen (during my google searches) a 2gig card for around £20. Not bad.

Well, the point is kind of moot. After HOURS of searching, I don't think there is any such animal. So, looks like I'll be headed down to Walmart and getting one (or two). Since this new camera does RAW, I'll probably need at least two. My SD cards won't go to waste. I have a USB drive that will take them and my Canon uses them, too.

This is the ONE THING I'm not to fond of in the Olympus (and Fuji) cameras. SD is, more or less, becoming the de facto standard. Actually, has been for some time. What the heck are their designers thinking?! Oh well. Nothing's perfect.

I have a compact flash adaptor and it works great. It holds a memory stick pro duo though. I don't know if they make them for the xd or sd.

Yup... I've seen those. But, none for SD-to-XD. Guess I'll just have to spring for some XD cards.

I'm afraid I can't see any either Garry, There are some good prices on ebay though for the XD cards. How much are they at wallmart?

You would have thought that they would have used the more common SD cards but still, not to worry. At least your other cards will not go to waste.

They're going cheaper than on eBay and there's no waiting or shipping. I'll probably pick up a couple.

Must be cheap then! I wish we had a wallmart here.

Like you say, you dont have to wait for the delivery either, which is a bonus in itself.
