    which camera to choose?

    Hi everyone,
I guess you could call me a beginner. I currently have a canon sd 1300is camera and am looking to upgrade to another camera that would best suit this class in the "under $600 range" and something that can be upgraded with lenses and other options. I'd like imput from anyonewho can help me pick out something that will be suitable for this class and something that will be with me for awhile.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Re: which camera to choose?

    Hi Rick,
There are a few on here that are using point and shoot cameras and doing the course, it is designed so that it can be done with one. But essential it makes it easier if get a camera that allows you to manually select all the settings such as aperature and shutter speed etc. There are quite a few compact cameras around now that have a lens range from approx 18-300mm which would cover everything that would need for the course and that have all the manual settings plus a mix of the settings suggested in the course. Other thing is to try different cameras in the shop to find how they feel in your hand, ease of use of various controls etc. Hope this helps a tiny bit.
    Cheers Craig.
